Proposed Revisions to Local Circuit Court Rules

The Jefferson Circuit Court Term recently proposed revisions to its local rules which have not been amended since 2006.

“A great deal of change has occurred in the interim, particularly regarding the foreclosure process and clerking issues,” noted Chief Jefferson Circuit Judge Audra J. Eckerle. She also indicated that the Term received input from the Court Administrator’s Office, Master Commissioner Edith Halbleib, Circuit Court Clerk David Nicholson and practicing attorneys as it considered the rules revisions.

SCR 1.040(3)(a) requires that the proposed new rules first be submitted to the local bar for review and comment before being ultimately approved by the Chief Justice of Kentucky. A redlined version of the proposed new rules can be viewed HERE. Any suggestions or concerns should be addressed to Eric Darnell, Circuit Court Administrator, at ericdarnell@kycourts.net or 595-4588 by August 30, 2013.
