What is the Kentucky Lawyer Referral Service (KLRS)?
KLRS is a service sponsored by the Louisville Bar Association that helps connect people who need legal counsel with experienced attorneys in their area.

Attorneys referred through KLRS will provide you with a free initial consultation (up to 30 minutes). If the attorney agrees to take your case, additional fees after that consultation will be agreed on by both you and your attorney.

How does it work?
Our KLRS team needs to know more about your legal issue to make a referral to an appropriate attorney. You can submit your information in one of two ways: either fill out the form below or call (502) 583-1801 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Monday through Friday to talk to a member of our staff. Our team will ask you a series of questions to determine which of our qualified attorneys may be right for you, and we’ll give you that attorney’s contact information.

Please note, that the attorney will not contact you. You need to contact the attorney once you receive a referral.

What counties does the service focus on?
Kentucky:
Breckenridge, Bullitt, Hardin, Henry, Jefferson, Larue, Meade, Nelson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer and Trimble counties.
Indiana:
Clark, Floyd, Harrison, Jefferson, Scott and Washington counties.

Can you connect me to an attorney who specifically practices in the area of law I need?
KLRS attorneys are available in 20+ areas of law including criminal, divorce, bankruptcy, labor and employment, real estate, foreclosure, wills, probate, tax, worker’s compensation and more.

Are free (pro bono) attorneys available?
Pro bono attorneys are not available through KLRS. However, attorneys who will work for a reduced fee are available to those who qualify; qualification is based on federal poverty level guidelines. Contact the Kentucky Lawyer Referral Service to find out if you qualify.
