Louisville Bar Foundation

LBF Charitable Donations

Why should I make a $45 charitable contribution to the Louisville Bar Foundation when I pay my annual LBA dues? Here’s what your colleagues say:

I give to Dare to Care, La Casita and Legal Aid Society. But I always make my LBF charitable gift when I pay my LBA dues because our legal profession needs to support local non-profits and the work they do.

When I served as a board member on the Foundation, I was moved - truly overwhelmed - by how Kentucky Refugee Ministries helped refugees from Afghanistan and Ukraine reunite with their families and secure the documents to become United States citizens. I am so proud of the LBF's role in supporting that work and I know there is more that needs to be done.I am always honored to make an annual charitable gift to the LBF.

I know my charitable gift to the LBF, although only $45, can make a huge difference. I'm so proud of what we as lawyers can do collectively to support law-related projects and services in our community.

Hon. Judge McKay Chauvin (ret.)

As a judge in Family Court, I benefit by having a CASA volunteer offer critical insights into a child's perspective and needs. CASA volunteers are a unique resource and the LBF has been a stalwart funder of the CASA program. My LBF charitable contribution is small, but it pays big dividends. I see the difference it makes with CASA volunteers in Family Court.

Hon. Judge Angela Johnson

I always make my LBF charitable gift when I pay my LBA dues because it's important the legal profession invests in the good work of local non-profits and furthers efforts to increase access to the justice system for everyone. As attorneys, we have an obligation to improve the legal system and our profession; and the LBF's mission statement strives to do just that. I'm proud to support that mission every year when I make my contribution.

You make a difference in our community when you add your $45 charitable contribution to your annual dues payment. Because of you and your colleagues, the LBF has awarded over $3.2 million in grants to local non-profits since 1982 for law-related projects. Thank you for your investment in justice.
