Dear Members,

After careful consideration and facing rising expenses (including health and property insurance costs), the LBA will be implementing its first dues increase in a decade in 2025. We analyzed membership dues of our peer bar associations, which showed we lag behind in comparison. Our dues are the primary resource we use to provide you with our LBA member services and benefits.

Of course, we’re mindful of the fact that any dues increase – no matter how necessary or appropriate – has a financial impact on our members. But we’re focused on providing more value for our members than ever before:

  • We now offer members an affordable, modern meeting space with the latest technology in our newly renovated Bar Center
  • We’ve vastly improved member access to the LBA through our new website and easy to use member database
  • We’re offering new placement options for employers of all sizes through the new LBA Job Board and giving members direct access to emerging legal talent through our growing partnership with the UL Brandeis School of Law
  • We’re launching new career development opportunities that go beyond traditional continuing legal education

To offset the upcoming dues increase, we’ll be offering all members one free hour of CLE for the first time in 2025 – a $45 dollar value.

This dues increase is not related to the renovation of the Bar Center, which is funded through a combination of investment dollars and separate donations.  Our dues increase ensures the association’s future stability.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me – this association belongs to you.

As always, I thank you for your support of your bar association.

Bryan Armstrong

President of the Louisville Bar Association
